Meat Is Not a Vital Part of a Human’s Diet

COVID-19. Heart disease. The widely known dangers of red meat consumption. Don’t you get it? Meat has no place in a human’s diet. The false information that animal meat provides nutrition has driven our society to ruin the beautiful things that make up this planet we live in. Properly educating nutritionists, trainers, doctors, etc. on health is pivotal in tackling the many health concerns that most of the human race suffer from today. Sugar, however, is deemed as an unhealthy substance that we should away from in order to obtain optimal health. Simple sugars are glucose, which means it is very much a necessary component of our diets.

You may be wondering how people function with a low carb- high protein diet if we need sugar so much, and the answer is that a diet consisting of too much protein and too little sugar leads the human body to go through a process called gluconeogenesis, where protein gets converted to glucose; in other words, these people are making their bodies work extra to get the fuel their body requires. Furthermore, people claim that a link between white sugar consumption and type 2 diabetes exists, where is the evidence that supports this absurd claim? On the other hand, there have been plenty of scientific studies that prove animal products, like red meat and dairy, increases one’s risk of being diagnosed with type 2. Animal consumption is not only unhealthy, but dangerous as well. The time for change is now.

Benefits and Cons of Tea

Drinking tea is scientifically controversial, and here is why: It is not hard to see why people love drinking tea: it’s tasty, (in a few ways) healthy and it relaxes the muscles. But what does a tea bag bring your water that you maybe should not be consuming so much? Caffeine . Caffeine messes up your metabolism, and if you rely on caffeine too much for an energy boost, instead of food, then you’re essentially feeding your body drugs. It has also been proven that many tea bags tend to contain lead. Although consuming caffeine in moderation should not terribly affect your body, especially your metabolic system, keep an eye open on your intake of caffeine.  Image source:  https://www.pexels.com/photo/peppermint-tea-on-teacup-1417945/ I also would like to add that based on my own research gathered thus far, I conclude that drinking lukewarm or hot water is a healthier alternative.  For more information and even more in-depth reasons why tea is not the best choice of drink, p...

We Are Frugivores

“Are you an omnivore?” Fellow students of mine growing up would ask each other questions like this. I have never witnessed anyone call out the irony of identifying and collectively agreeing on lions being carnivores, while human beings questioning each other’s designed diet. The truth is that we have objectified animals so much that we no longer associate with them, even though we are animals ourselves. When one’s looks or behavior gets compared to those of an animal, it is seen so negatively, which feeds into the idea that animals are lesser than humans. Whenever I would’ve informed someone of the fact that we are frugivores,  they would always argue that we are herbivores or omnivores. Just because we are capable of consuming meat, it does not mean any of it belongs in our bodies. Do we see lions that have been diagnosed with heart disease? Their bodies are designed to handle all of the meat, therefore their health is not jeopardized in eating it. Our ancestors were eating lot...
